podcast add on?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to Kodi and currently have it installed to play local media (video and audio files) from a server.  I would like to play podcasts.  Right now I use my phone and an app.  Do other people listen to podcasts and how do they use Kodi?  I have added the Add-on:Apple_iTunes_Podcasts (wiki) but it doesn't seem to work.  I cannot seem to search or add podcasts.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi.

I run RadioFeeds, a comprehensive radio station live webstream directory, listing stations from the UK and Ireland.
As I understand it, due to various reasons with the broadcasters themselves, certain stations may be missing from TuneIn.

Are there any developers on here who would be interested in creating an add-on for Kodi that'll make use of my directory?

Hi there,
back in the XBMC days there used to be plenty of Visualization plugins (which were basically spectrum analyzers drawing neat visual effects based on the audio playing).
What happened?

Is this something I could install somehow?

Youtube Music

With Google Play Music slowly being phased out by Google (and things being sped up lately) was anybody planning a Youtube Music addon in the future? I know there is an addon out there called Youtube Music, but it's not a real Youtube Music addon, but rather an addon that plays music from Youtube (rather than an addon that uses there Youtube Music service)

Youtube Music allows our Google Play uploads etc to play, and our playlists have been migrated etc)

Currently all of my playlists have been migrated (as it advises you to do that when you open Google Play Music - as the service will soon be closed), and show in the Kodi Youtube addon - however any uploaded song won't play in the Youtube addon. It says it's private content or similar (despite me being logged in to Youtube). I've also noticed this happens when casting to my Hisense TV - it seems that Youtube Music exclusives/uploads won't play in Youtube apps and addons (it needs to be native Youtube Music addon/app/API).

Universal Artist add-on

Hi Kodi-Techs,
I have encountered a problem when trying to scrape metadata from allmusic.com using the Universal Artist add-on.  When I add a new album or refresh an existing album using allmusic.com settings in the add-on to scrape the artist, the scraper returns no results.  The feature has been working in the past, but it now fails.  The album I am importing has MusicBrainz tags and the MB.com artist entry has an allmusic.com tag attached to it.
I have uploaded a log here, that tracks the refresh of an example artist that is failing.
Kodi is running on XBox One with the latest updates; on Leia 18.7 with the latest add-ons.
Thoughts?

Primephonic?

Some acquaintance of me recommended me to try Primephonic. It should be great for classical music, which I love. Alas, I could not find an addin for Primephonic, so, maybe it's not here. I do have a Tidal(2) subscription, and formerly a Qobuz subscription, but the Qobuz addin does not work anymore, due to some disagreement.
So, Primephonic then? Can't find it here.

Is there any possibility for this addin?

I'm pretty aware that this is not something one can expect from the company Primephonic, or am I wrong?

Hi,

I have an app on google play for streaming shoutcast/icecast channels,
The streams are also available on our website.

I know I can install the app from google play to my smart tv box,
But I was wondering if i could create an addon for Kodi that fetches an external url (my website)

I'd like to test the website/player on my smart tv box, through Kodi.

Or how could I create a radio directory for shoutcast/icecast.

Storage/Playback audio CD's in MDF/MDS or NRG format

We have a large collection of CD's and DVD's/Blu-Rays. In order to save space, we digitize them by storing them on our Hard-drive in ISO (Image) format and play them using Kodi. Works like a charm for DVD's and Blu-Rays. The MDF/MDS and/or NRG format for audio CD's is a different story. Digitizing is not the problem but using Kodi for playback is. We use the V10 Pro Venz for this purpose. Anyone with good ideas? We tried VLC-Player add-on which does the job for Windows, but does nit give the desired effect for android in cobimation with our V10 Pro Venz.

My goals are following:

I select music from tracker.
It gets downloaded and seeded and playable.
I can delete music with web interface.
Music is flac.
Is there problem with this? Where are some manuals on how to write plugin? Where are the hooks? Can I launch any executable fullscreen and do my own with codi as input device while service registered with system d is doing it job as torrent?

This addon is a rewrite of the Experimental Google Music addon to Youtube Music.

In de Radio add-on from Tristan Fischer, 40Up radio doesn't work anymore

Hi,

Since a few weeks the stream from 40Up radio isn't working anymore in the Radio add-on from Tristan Fischer.
Reinstalling 40Up did not do the trick.
In my browser (FF in Linux) the stream works: https://40upradio.nl/

But unfortunately the stream in Kodi doesn't

I have contacted 40Up, and got an answer (in Dutch): Nou,simpel was het niet (omdat er andere tussenpartijen zijn die soms onbereikbaar zijn bovendien), maar het is uiteindelijk hersteld. Hopelijk had je dat al gemerkt, anders weet je het nu :-)

So, something has changed. In my browser it works, in Kodi not.

Hopefully this can be mended.

Radio add on fails over VPN connection

I am in Australia, using the Radio addon version 3.0.6+matrix.1 on media centres in our house, a mix of Linux and android clients. Our home network goes out over a VPN server  in Melbourne, AU. 

For the last couple of months the addon hasn't worked. On start up "working" would remain up until it crashed kodi. Looking at the log there were netwrok related errors;  "cannot connect",  timed out errors etc.

This morning I disabled the VPN and the Radio add on worked.

Re-enabling the VPN results in the cannot connect errors and crash Kodi.

Why would a VPN connection cause the Radio add on to fail. is it by design?
